There is nothing more exciting than introducing students to a great piece of literature. Conversely, there is nothing more disappointing than students’ lack of enthusiasm about a book you truly love. Unfortunately, your fervor about a novel does not always translate into cheers and applause on the part of your students. Reading a novel requires a lot of investment. Even novels with high-action plots take a while to build momentum. How can you quickly bolster students’ interest at the start of a new book? Below are six sure-fire ways to get your class excited about a new novel.

I lived in the Atlantic City area at the time and business men were going to the new casinos and gambling until they not only lost their self esteem, they lost their businesses. When you commit to writing a novel, start by making small goals. Always complete each goal you set for yourself. Your subconscious mind is paying attention to everything you do. Let it know you are serious and it will reward you.
With a plot, the emphasis is on events and the protagonist comes through relatively unchanged. However, there is a struggle between the protagonist and the obstacles he must overcome. The point of the whole novel is whether or not the protagonist’s objective will succeed. Once that point of recognition is revealed, the novel is near its end.
